Forty-four representatives of local governments and development institutions took part in the fourth session of the training programme “Project Management School: Plan. Implement. Transform.”, held in Kropyvnytskyi from 20 to 22 May 2026. The training marked another step in strengthening the capacity of communities within the framework of the project KRYTSIA: Support for the Recovery of Kryvyi Rih Raion.
Participants included representatives of the Kryvyi Rih City Council, the Kryvyi Rih District State Administration, the Kryvyi Rih City Development Institute, the Dnipropetrovsk Investment Agency, and communities of Kryvyi Rih Raion. The group brought together deputy heads of communities, heads of municipal departments, and specialists in economic development, international cooperation, investment attraction, and project management.
This session focused on building strong teams capable of effectively designing and implementing recovery and development projects. Participants enhanced their leadership and change management skills, explored approaches to building trust within teams, strengthened decision-making competencies, and improved internal communication practices. Particular attention was given to practical tools that help communities organise project teams and achieve results in complex and rapidly changing environments.
During the training, participants also worked on their own project ideas, assessed their feasibility, received expert feedback, and refined approaches for future implementation. Special emphasis was placed on transformational leadership, conflict management, and effective role distribution within project teams.
The learning process was facilitated by experts in public administration, organisational development, and project management. Combining theory with practical case studies enabled participants not only to gain new knowledge but also to adapt the tools directly to the needs of their communities.
One of the key outcomes of the fourth session was the strengthening of professional teams responsible for attracting resources and implementing development initiatives at the local level. More than 45% of participants held senior or middle-management positions, creating favourable conditions for the rapid application of newly acquired knowledge and practices within their organisations.
The Project Management School is implemented within the framework of the project KRYTSIA: Support for the recovery of Kryvyi Rih Raion, funded by The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency, in partnership with Proman and NDI. The programme helps communities strengthen institutional capacity, improve project management practices, and more effectively mobilise resources for recovery and sustainable development.
