Third Module of the Project Management School for Kryvyi Rih Community Leaders Wraps Up in Cherkasy

Over 40 community representatives from the Kryvyi Rih region have completed the third module of the Project Management School in Cherkasy, learning how to craft successful grant proposals for regional recovery. Participants put their newly acquired skills into practice during a field workshop in Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi, exploring real-world infrastructure and energy efficiency projects.

The third module of the Project Management School has successfully concluded in Cherkasy! Over 40 professionals—representing 12 rural and settlement councils alongside 4 districts of Kryvyi Rih—came together to take another step toward the high-quality recovery of their communities.

The training took place as part of the project KRYTSIA: Support for Recovery of Kryvyi Rih Raion, funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented by LuxDev, the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency, in partnership with Proman and BDF.

Participants dove deep into working with the logical framework matrix (logframe)—the true “heart” of any successful grant application. Instead of dry theory, the specialists mastered real-world planning tools by:

  • Developing a solid foundation for future projects.
  • Learning to define clear success indicators so that results can be measured and proven.
  • Synchronizing their own project ideas with the broader regional recovery strategies.

💡 The best learning comes from seeing how solutions work in real life. That is why a crucial part of the module was a field practicum to the city of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi. The Kryvyi Rih delegation saw firsthand the community’s successful energy-efficiency and infrastructure projects by:

  • Examining the operation of an active cogeneration unit at the central boiler facility.
  • Reviewing modern approaches to the facilities at the “Druzhba” kindergarten and a multidisciplinary hospital.
  • Exchanging practical experience with city council colleagues and municipal utility workers.
  • Getting an emotional recharge during a guided tour of the state historical and cultural reserve.

The visit served as an important platform for building partnerships and finding effective solutions for community development. We are sincerely grateful to Acting Mayor Vitaliy Matsiuk for his openness and meaningful communication
