More than 100 educators from Kryvyi Rih and the raion have completed the “Sensory Integration for Educators” training, organised within the framework of the KRYTSIA: Support for Recovery of Kryvyi Rih Raion. The project is implemented by PROMAN and the Luxembourg Development Agency LuxDev and funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The in-person sessions were held at one of Kyiv’s leading inclusive resource centres. It was here that educators got acquainted with the equipment and techniques they will soon use in sensory rooms for children with special educational needs.
This training is a key step toward the launch of 22 sensory rooms in educational institutions across Kryvyi Rih Raion, equipped within the KRYTSIA project. Participants gained knowledge of the principles of sensory integration, learned to identify challenges, build individual support strategies, and select exercises to support children’s adaptation and unlock their potential.
The training was delivered by Dr. Iryna Martynenko — a leading expert in sensory integration and a certified CLASI specialist (USA).
The results are already tangible: over 500 children with special educational needs will benefit from the expertise of the newly trained professionals. This means more than just modern equipment — it’s about creating a caring environment that helps children cope with stress, supports their nervous system, and ensures a safe space for learning.
The second wave of sensory room development in schools and preschools is on the horizon. The KRYTSIA project continues to support the development of inclusive education — and the children who deserve quality care today.
