Improved Services, Expanded Capacity, and New Jobs

A Kryvyi Rih Entrepreneur’s Success Story Thanks to a Grant from Luxembourg

Yevhen Lyashevskyi represents an environmental services company based in Kryvyi Rih that specializes in maintaining water supply and sewage systems. His business became a participant in the “Small Business Grants” program, part of the KRYTSIA: Support for recovery of Kryvyi Rih Raion. The program is funded by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and implemented through the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency LuxDev, and in partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Fund.

The program follows a co-financing model: 50% of the project cost is covered by the grant, the other 50% — by a bank loan. In total, €5 million has been allocated to support small and medium-sized businesses in the region.

Thanks to this opportunity, the company was able to purchase two essential pieces of equipment — a modern excavator and a powerful 40-kilowatt diesel generator. These upgrades significantly boosted the team’s technical capabilities.

But the benefits didn’t stop there. With this upgrade, the company was able to grow its team and create new jobs for engineers and technical professionals.

It’s a clear example of how targeted support can lead to real, tangible progress — for businesses, teams, and communities.

The excavator helps us fix pipeline breaks much faster. And the generator? It means we can keep working no matter what. We can now operate a jackhammer and weld pipes right on-site — no need for access to the power grid
