Kryvyi Rih and the communities of Kryvyi Rih district received 47 generators from Luxembourg to strengthen energy resilience

Luxembourg continues to stand with Kryvyi Rih and the surrounding communities, strengthening their energy resilience ahead of winter. The new equipment will serve as a reliable shield for critical infrastructure and ensure that even in the most challenging times, community life remains uninterrupted.
Ahead of the autumn-winter season, Kryvyi Rih and the communities of Kryvyi Rih district received 47 modern generators with capacities ranging from 3.5 to 237 kW. This equipment will serve as an additional energy reserve for schools, kindergartens, hospitals, administrative buildings, and other critical facilities.   The equipment was procured within the framework of the project KRYTSIA: Support for the Recovery of Kryvyi Rih Raion, jointly implemented by PROMAN and the Lux-Development (LuxDev), with funding from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.   Both the city of Kryvyi Rih and district communities received new sources of backup power:
  • Kryvyi Rih received four powerful generators.
  • Nyvotrudivska community received the largest one — 237 kW — as well as two smaller units.
  • Sofiivska community was provided with ten generators, including a 50 kW unit.
  • Shyrokivska community received six medium-capacity generators.
  • Hleiuvatka community received nine generators, including several 50 kW units.
  • Hrechaniopodivska community received six.
  • Hrushivska community received seven.
  • Karpivska received a 20 kW unit.
  • Novolativska received a 30 kW unit.
In total, nine communities and Kryvyi Rih city received this equipment. Its capacity will cover the needs of both small rural facilities and large schools or administrative buildings. This support is especially vital now, as the threat of attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure remains. The new generators will help Kryvyi Rih and the district’s communities ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical facilities, even during prolonged power outages.

We see these generators as an insurance resource for communities and the city, complementing the solar power plants already being installed in the region. It’s a double layer of protection that allows us to be ready for any challenges
